Your Amazon account is shared on Amazon websites, so if you delete it, you'll lose access to Amazon-owned sites such as Audible.com with Amazon.com. You won’t be ready to sign into any website you utilize your Amazon account for. Your Amazon Payments account also will be shut down.

You’ll get to contact Amazon customer support to close your account, but Amazon offers a streamlined process for doing so. Sign in with the Amazon account you would like to close. Click “Prime or Something Else” at the highest of the customer support page. Under the “Tell us more about your issue” section, select “Account Settings” within the first box and “Close My Account” within the second box. You’ll need to ask Amazon’s customer support staff about this. How would you like to contact us? "Section, select Email, Phone or Chat ".

We recommend selecting "Email", which is the fastest way. You’ll get to receive an email as a part of the account deletion process, anyway. If you contact them over the phone or online chat, Amazon employees did not immediately delete your account. Tell Amazon's customer support staff that you want to close your account and provide a reason.

Amazon’s customer support staff will contact you by email with more warnings about what you’ll lose once you delete an account. They’ll also try to find out what problem you’re having and offer other possible solutions. But, if you’re sure you are doing want to close your account, they’ll assist you to do so.
